We seek to rethink the models of relationships between citizens, organised civil society and public institutions in order to involve citizens effectively in public decision-making and policy-making. <\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h4>How do we do this?<\/h4>\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<p><strong>Our main areas of work are:<\/strong><br \/>1. <strong>Arantzazulab meeting place.<\/strong> Catalyst of innovation ecosystems.2. <strong>Deliberative Democracy. <\/strong>Institutionalisation.3. <b>Institutional transformation <\/b>and<b> social activation. <\/b>New models of governance.4.\u00a0<b>Dissemination <\/b>and<b> systematisation of knowledge.<\/b><\/p>\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<p>Our basis and characteristics for the development of our work are:<\/p><ul><li>To act with an innovative and transformative approaches.<\/li><li>To atalyse collaborations and networks.<\/li><li>To attract new international approaches and connect to advanced knowledge.<\/li><li>To work from the local culture, language and values.<br \/><br \/><\/li><\/ul>\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h4>Arantzazulab&#8217;s methodology: Design for Democracy Innovation<\/h4>\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<p>The world is undergoing profound structural changes, and the challenges we now face are systemic and of unprecedented scale. In this sense, and in the opinion of numerous experts, collaborative governance could be one way to solve the democratic crisis. Arantzazulab puts forward the theory that <strong>only by strengthening the collaborative networks among governments, organised society and citizens will we be able to respond to the complex challenges presented by the current agenda.<\/strong>In order for collaborative governance to respond to the aforementioned challenges, we need appropriate work methodologies that can adapt to each situation. To achieve this objective, Arantzazulab has framed a work methodology called &#8220;Design for Democracy Innovation&#8221;.<\/p>\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<p>Our aim is to explain, through this methodology, the way we work, the process we follow, and the philosophical bases and principles of our work (how we work and why). Our aim is to contribute to democracy innovation and this methodology, which provides coherence and is the basis for this work.<\/p>\nThis methodology is not a proposal based on theory (although the practitioners proposing the framework are heavily influenced by theory); rather, it is a framework that systematises the lessons learned during Arantzazulab&#8217;s journey and during the experience of those who created the methodology. Catalyst of innovation ecosystems<\/h4>\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<p>At Arantzazulab we promote new models of relationships between stakeholders and innovation ecosystems to deepen Collaborative Governance. Innovation ecosystems are networks formed by agents of transformation, which are coordinated and driven by stakeholders who are committed to connecting and working with other actors. target=\"_self\">\n\t\t\tInternational network\t\t<\/a>\n\t<\/h5>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t<h4>Spreading deliberative democracy<\/h4>\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<p>We promote and facilitate the participation of society in the deliberation. The first year of the lab we decided to experiment with Deliberative Democracy as a tool for putting collaborative governance into practice. We promoted and launched two Citizen Assemblies for the first time as pioneering initiatives in our region Arantzazulab&#8217;s ultimate goal in these two projects is to develop knowledge in relation to Deliberative <\/p>\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\n\t\t\t<p>Democracy, generate local capacities, and create the conditions to institutionalise processes of deliberation in Basque institutions, introducing deliberation as a stable instrument to involve citizens in public decision-making.We are currently designing new Citizens&#8217; Assemblies with different institutions in the Basque Country, and working towards the institutionalisation of this tool for democratic innovation.<\/p>\t\t\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a
