The Hitzetatik – Ekintzetara initiative promoted by Kutxa Fundazioa and Arantzazulab, with the support of the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa, has completed its first phase with a positive assessment. The citizens got involved in the programme of “click” activities in favour of zero hunger. <\/span>In some cases, the results have exceeded all expectations.<\/span> Between May to June, the Hitzetatik – Ekintzetara programme toured Gipuzkoa. With the aim of bringing the 2030 Agenda closer to the citizens and to activate the implication of Gipuzkoa\u2019s citizens, Hitzetatik – Ekintzetara programme included a series of activities mainly focused on offering a different, close and attractive way of contributing to the cause.<\/span><\/p>\n

That is exactly the purpose of this project: to facilitate new ways of generating an impact on the different challenges we face as a society. This first edition of Hitzetatik – Ekintzetara has focused on the 2nd Sustainable Development Goal: zero hunger. <\/span>To address the challenge and create the programme activities, Kutxa Fundazioa and Arantzazulab have had the support of more than 23 agents from the eco-social sector of Gipuzkoa involved in this cause.<\/span><\/p>\n

The team formed by Kutxa Fundazioa and Arantzazulab assessed the experience very positively: “When talking to the people who took part, in general, they told us that they were satisfied, that although they had been “shaken” by the harshness of the cause, they had had very enriching experiences. Some were already involved in one initiative or another and others have had their first experience of collective commitment.<\/span><\/p>\n

Results of the 9 KLIK<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

The KLIK Programme has sought to generate significant experiences, and it has done so. In this sense, the Jatorkin association, which opened the doors of its social canteen in Aiete to all citizens, brought together more than 100 people from different contexts, who shared lunches every day.<\/span> Various initiatives were organised in Tolosa and Ordizia, to collect fresh produce for people in vulnerable situations. <\/span><\/p>\n

The “Jarri beste bat” initiative of the Zutani Association in Tolosa collected 1,000 kg of fruit and vegetables, which helped 100 families. In Ordizia, Lagunkiro and Delikatuz’s “Fresh Produce Solidarity Market” initiative obtained 1,515 donations and, thanks to the involvement of the town’s students, almost 1,700 kg were collected to help Ordizia’s families.<\/span> The Food Bank collected 37% more than last year in its spring collections, thnaks to the help of more than 40 small businesses in Gipuzkoa who joined in with collections in their establishments. Thanks to the participation of the groups that joined in sorting the food, the classification work was completed 3 days ahead of schedule.<\/span><\/p>\n

\"Hitzetatik<\/p>\n

The Orereta ikastola, organiser of this year’s Kilometroak, also wanted to join the cause and worked on food wastage together with Asmoz and Enraiza Derechos, showing data to the streets.<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>The Real Sociedad Foundation also got involved in the cause. On the day of the Real Sociedad Fundazioaren Eguna, more than 250 fans donated food at the collection point set up for the Citizen Reception Network.<\/span><\/p>\n

Next steps<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

The team is now working on the next milestone of the project, the TOPAK festival. The event will take place in October to celebrate and share the experiences, as well as being a key moment to re-activate citizens and make visible the importance of the collective movement to address the challenges we face as a society.
