First meeting to create a network of knowledge agents and on Governance Innovation
Promoted by Arantzazulab, researchers and practitioners from 13 different organisations attended the event.
Researchers, Knowledge agents, laboratories or research groups that are reflecting, researching, and carrying out practical and experimentation actions in the field of Governance and democratic innovation met today in Gandiaga Topagunea, the headquarters of Arantzazulab. The main objectives of the session were:
- Sharing the work and knowing each other better.
- The construction of a network of knowledge agents different university research groups participated in the session,as well as different laboratories and representatives and research centres:

It should also be noted that Arantzazulab catalyses three other collaborative spaces of this type, promoting new ways of doing and new knowledge, as an innovation ecosystems to develop, promote and build collaboration with various national and international stakeholders: the Co-creation Ecosystem, the Collaborative Research space t and the Fellowship network with international researchers.
Arantzazulab is a reference centre for Innovation in Governance and a catalyst for social innovation. Its main objective is to reinforce and disseminate collaborative Governance. For this reason, the development of new spaces for deliberation, reflection and shared action, as well as the design, articulation and facilitation of networks between different actors is key for the laboratory. And that is why, according to Naiara Goia, managing director at Arantzazulab stated, “gathering diverse agents who are developing knowledge in governance innovation or in the field of democracy is of vital importance, to build on existing knowledge, to amplify our impact, to learn about the different approaches and to deepen mutual knowledge, as well as to explore new collaboration options. It also allows us to build and facilitate a new collaborative space composed of different actors, contributing to our goal of spreading a collaborative culture while reinforcing our responsibility as catalysts of Innovation Ecosystems”.
In the first part of the meeting, each knowledge agent had the opportunity to present their own research projects related to the topic. This enabled to learn about the participants work on innovation in governance, collaborative governance, democracy or related areas, it was followed by a working dynamic for shared reflection on what was heard. In addition, the steps to be taken in the future were discussed. The agents who participated in the session highlighted the importance and the value of a networkof this type. At the conclusion of the meeting Arantzazulab also assesed positiively the event.
