Deusto and Arantzazulab Strengthen Their Commitment to Democratic Advancement Through Collaboration in the Master’s Program in Democracy, Public Institutions, and Political Innovation
Both institutions will collaborate in organizing international seminars to attract leading experts in the field to our region.
The University of Deusto and Arantzazulab have taken a new step in their collaboration with the signing of an agreement today, March 27, which reinforces their commitment, in the areas of research and training, to deepening and innovating democracy and collaborative governance. The main innovation of the agreement is the collaboration between both institutions within the framework of the new Master’s in Democracy, Public Institutions, and Political Innovation.
In this regard, Arantzazulab will offer courses focused on democratic innovation processes and will participate in the design and promotion of international seminars open to society. These sessions will be aimed at fostering debate on the main democratic challenges today, attracting international experts in the field of democratic innovation and public innovation. Additionally, as a demonstration of support for promoting talent, a scholarship will be granted for these studies.
This agreement continues the relationship of the past few years between the two institutions, which already collaborate in the research space promoted by Arantzazulab on various lines of research regarding democracy and collaborative governance, together with the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) and Mondragon Unibertsitatea (MU).
The signing of the agreement was attended by Naiara Goia, Managingl Director of Arantzazulab; Xabier Riezu, Vice-Rector of the Donostia-San Sebastián Campus of the University of Deusto; Ane Ferran, Dean of the Faculty of Social and Human Sciences; Martin Zuñiga, Director of the Master’s Program; and Eider Landaberea, Associate Professor and Head of the research team working with researchers from the University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) and Mondragon Unibertsitatea (MU) on initiatives related to the quality of democracy.
