Arantzazulab, a governance innovation reference in the Basque region, has consolidated the social innovation lab programme and has established a solid ground after its first year. In order to support the activities launched by the lab and hold the level of ambition of the programme, Arantzazulab launched two recruitment processes to strengthen the team in the beginning of 2022.

Now that both processes have been completed, the two new team members have been working for several weeks at Gandiaga Topagunea, the laboratory’s headquarters. Leire Lizarralde is the head of Administration and Infrastructures at Arantzazulab. With a degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of Mondragon, she is specialised in financial aspects, and is mainly responsible for the economic and legal management of Arantzazulab. Lizarralde has almost a decade of work experience in the company LKS Auditores (Aretxabaleta), both in the analysis of the financial situation of entities of different types and sizes, and in the verification of economic expenses.

Ane Miren Valenciano is in charge of managing social innovation projects. Valenciano is a Technical Engineer in Industrial Design (Escuela Universitaria de Diseño e Ingeniería de Barcelona -ELISAVA-) and holds a Master’s Degree in Strategic Design of Products and Services (Mondragon Unibertsitatea), as well as a Master’s Degree in Product and Space Design (Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña).  Her professional career has been focused on the development of social innovation projects (Essl Foundation), as well as on research projects in the field of dynamic capabilities, innovation in business models and sustainable business models (Mondragon Unibertsitatea). In recent years she has combined her research activity with teaching at Mondragon Unibertsitatea on topics related to innovation management, new emerging sectors and creativity. In addition, at Mondragon Unibertsitatea, she has also worked on supporting companies and organisations with social purposes, both in the project portfolio and in the areas of project management and improvement of management processes, for instance the Debagoiena 2030 initiative.
